Day 1

No wind to start with was frustrating but it eventually came from the SW making a course possible.  It didn't last so after race 2 was cancelled because the gate buoys had moved it was back to the lawn and lunch.  Sufficient breeze from the East allowed a tight course off the North edge of the wharf.  Brett kept the races coming even with some shortened courses called.  Winds were never above 8 knots.

Day 2

Much the same as Saturday with an Easterly in the morning and a few races in the afternoon with a light SW.  Gully was pro for Sunday and the longer breaks after blocks of three races were appreciated.  Again no gusts over 8 knots - ever!

Congratulations to Scott, Andrew and Ross.  Results below

Well done Scott (and Gully!)                                       Waiting for the wind!

Whitrod Classic

A good sized fleet of thirteen boats, evenly mixed between ARCYRC and Mawson Lakes model Yacht Club boats, had to wait for the breeze to settle, and after an early lunch racing commenced.

A rigs were used for the good part of the day but as the breeze gradually increased the majority of the fleet opted to change down to B rigs for the final four races.

At the end of the day it was Mitchell that showed his transom to the rest of the fleet winning the event with a score of 17 points (and 8 race wins) finishing 3 points ahead of Paul Littledyke with Brett Osborn a further 11 points in arrears.

Thanks to Rob our RO for the day and others who assisted with the organisation of the event.

Congratulations to SARYC - too good on the day.  At least John L and David K from Stirling got the first two positions with some excellent boat speed from both but the depth of talent in the West Lakes yachts was the deciding factor.

All seemed to have an enjoyable day relaxing in the calm, mild conditions and renewing friendships with other club members.

Thanks to Terry D and Ben M for running the day with not too much going wrong. A big thanks to the competitors for showing consideration in the somewhat crowded buoy roundings etc.
